''Coleophora orbitella'' is a moth of the Coleophoridae family. It is found in Scandinavia and northern Russia to the Pyrenees and Italy and from Ireland to Poland and Hungary. The wingspan is 10–14 mm.〔(microlepidoptera.nl )〕 Adults are on wing in one generation per year from late May to early July.〔(Lepidoptera of Belgium )〕 The larvae feed on ''Alnus glutinosa'', ''Betula pendula'', ''Carpinus betulus'' and ''Corylus avellana''. They create a composite leaf case. The material used to enlarge the case consists of large pieces of fleck mine. In the course of summer and autumn two pieces are added. No more material is added after hibernation.〔(bladmineerders.nl )〕 Larvae can be found from mid August to the end of October, when they are full-grown. Pupation takes place after hibernation. ==References==
